Key Duties / Responsibilities

  • Work with senior stakeholders across the JD Group to design complete programmes of work that align with and help deliver the business strategy
  • Manage teams of project managers and business analysts on a matrix basis and ensure your programme(s) are adequately resourced to deliver on time and to the appropriate level of quality
  • Ensure that project proposals, project initiation documents, business cases and change requests are created at an appropriate level of quality and project scope aligns to the overall aims of the programme
  • Ensure projects, enhancements and change requests are managed to agreed time, cost and deliverable targets
  • Develop appropriate communication strategies for each programme stakeholder, manage expectations and be politically aware
  • Capture, question and validate information collected about tasks, durations and dependencies
  • Ensure scope changes are logged, impact assessed and managed
  • Maintain programme plans and schedules in line with changes in prioritisation and the overall JD Group strategy and roadmap
  • Communicate clearly on the status of your programme portfolio, escalating issues and risks appropriately
  • Identify and communicate any risks that may affect the programme(s) and identify mitigation measures to manage
  • Understand and manage the dependencies within each programme you are responsible for and between programmes within the wider portfolio, liaising with other programme and project managers as appropriate to ensure successful and timely delivery of the portfolio.
  • Take responsibility for your personal development including working with your manager to set objectives and milestones and identify your training needs
  • Identify new ways of working and supporting technologies that will assist the team to become more efficient and deliver a higher quality of delivery to the business

 Skills / Experience / Knowledge Needed:

  • Extensive programme and project management experience in large, complex business(es)
  • Supply chain experience ideally in retail
  • Experience working with omnichannel teams such as retail, digital, IT, operations, merchandising, marketing, finance, information security, loss control, analytics, customer care
  • Experience in a matrix environment with dynamic resource allocation
  • Comfortable in environments where priorities can change rapidly and the need for flexibility and ability to re-focus is important
  • Professional certification in Project Management
  • Highly organised, able to work in a very fast paced environment and plan/manage time accordingly
  • Strong facilitation and influencing skills
  • Confidence, experience and knowledge to question stakeholders and delivery teams
  • Self-starter able to work with limited guidance
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Diligent, focused and dependable, able to build strong relationships based on integrity 
  • Team player able to work constructively with other project managers, business analysts, operational teams, technology teams, suppliers, business stakeholders and senior management

 

Since the position is a programme related role, it is limited for an estimated time frame of one year.
